This book by Dr.Schuller, was one of the best books that I have read. After reading the book, it changed my way of thinking. I was a negative thinker. I highly recomend it to anyone. I Thank God for Dr.Schuller and all of his books! I especially like Dr.Schullers testimonies. He didn't just write the words, he has lived them and has examples of other people. Thank You Dr.Schuller for writting this. It really helped me.

bestseller that was read by the author . . . it describes how to tap into
your own dynamic divine energy by following these eight steps that
are designed to lead to personal success:

The last of a samurai clan taking on ancient vampires? What's not to like?

Taking vampires out of middle Europe or middle American might seem like an odd thing to do, but it works very well in this book. Set in modern Japan, Shinku takes the idea of the last samurai of her clan still fighting a war against the vampires that eliminated all samurai from Japan. It's graphic in it's violence, and is rated for adults, and worth every penny I paid for it. The premise works, it's set for a long run and I can't wait to see the twists and turns that are signature from Ron Marz.

A fun action-packed, girl-power, vampire-killing, punch to the gut!

I have been a long time fan of Ron Marz's work. Besides being an immensely talented writer, he is incredibly diverse with his stories. SHINKU is no exception to this rule. SHINKU is unlike anything else Marz has done before, and that isn't a bad thing. Once again he delivers a fun and entertaining story that delivers in ways entirely different than his other works. To add the the punch, the art is simply gorgeous. Every page is fast, brutal and smartly drawn. If I had to break down what you have in-store for you with SHINKU, I would say that it is the first Blade film with a Japanese, girl-power twist. Of course it is a lot more than that, but I am simplifying here. Check it out.

Fast paced, deadly and fun!

SHINKU is an excellent, dangerous and sexy comic about a female vampire hunter. The art is simply gorgeous, complimenting the interesting story and well developed characters. The character of Shinku herself is simply bad ass, without falling back on cliche's or being unlikeable. Every page is exciting, and when the vampire-slaying violence erupts, it's really something to see!

The author is an imaginative wordsmith, who creates pathos in the characters, and the story ends with a brittle resolution, where the reader is called to question moral and ethical values of the protagonist. At the end, one turns the page to find out how the story ends.

This was great if you know Brighton. Characters were more like caracatures; not believable and neither were some of the events. Bit disappointing really.

About the Author
Matthew N. O. Sadiku�received his PhD from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville. From 1984 to 1988, he was Assistant Professor at Florida Atlantic University, where he did graduate work in Computer Science. From 1988 to 2000, he was at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he became a full Professor. From 2000 to 2002, he was with Lucent/Avaya, Holmdel, New Jersey, as a System Engineer and with Boeing Satellite Systems as a Senior Scientist. He is currently a professor at Prairie View A&M University.

Dr. Charles K. Alexander is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio. He is also the Director of the Center for Research in Electronics and Aerospace Technology (CREATE). From 2002 until 2006 he was Dean of the Fenn College of Engineering. He has held the position of Dean of Engineering at Cleveland State University, California State University, Northridge, and Temple University (acting Dean for six years). He has held the position of Department Chair at Temple University and Tennessee Technological University as well as the position of Stocker Visiting Professor (an Endowed Chair) at Ohio University. He has held faculty status at all of the aforementioned Universities.

The only reference Guide to American Clipper Ships available

This excellent reference guide originally published by the Marine Research Society in Salem, Mass. in 1926-27, actually consists of two Volumes:
Vol 1: Adelaide-Lotus: ISBN: 0486251152
Vol 2: Malay-Young Mechanic: ISBN: 0486251160
Volume 1 covers all American Clipper Ships built from 1833-1858 whose names begin with the letters A through L, and Volume 2 covers from M through Y. I don't know why they are offered separately, as Volume 1 also contains the introduction and Volume 2 the Index, so it makes no sense to purchase these separately. Also the pagination is consecutive. The brief introduction explains the criteria used to define a Clipper Ship, which is a ship "...of peculiar construction, designed for great speed rather than for capacity." (p.v) The authors Octavius T. Howe and Frederick C. Matthews consider the "Ann McKim" launched at Baltimore in 1833 to be the first Clipper, and the era of the Clipper to be over by 1858 with the launching of "The Star of Peace" at Newburyport. The books are basically listings of all 352 known Clipper Ships arranged alphabetically. Some entries are brief; others however are quite lengthy and include excerpts of contemporary descriptions in the Press and in Correspondence. It seems that the Sailing Records of Ships were of great interest to the authors, so the records of the fastest voyages on several routes can be found in these books. The Index includes not only the names of Ships, but also of Captains, Owners and Builders. Also included are reproductions of about 100 paintings and some drawings. These have not fared so well in the reprint edition, and their quality is sometimes not so good, but many are still helpful. This almost 800 page long book can be used as a reference book, or as a book just to page around. Original editions are quite hard to come by and expensive, so this reprint edition is very reasonably priced and a welcome addition to any Bookshelf of Maritime History.

Older printed edtions far superior to the new "photocopied" reproductions.

The two volume set is wonderful for maritime/history buffs and model ship builders. Detailed specs for each ship are given and interesting stories of the ship's careers are included, often ending in shipwreck, giving readers some great insight into the hazards and adventures clipper ships and crews faced in that time period. Highly recommended.

The reason I only give it three stars is because earlier copies of these books were printed in Canada and in those editions the printing and black/white illustrations are very good. The new editions by DOVER publications are now "printed" in the USA and these are apparently photo copies with a decidedly worse sharpness to the print font and DISMAL reproductions of the clipper ship drawings. The "copied" version is only a FAIR reproduction at best and a poor substitute for an actual printing press. I highly recommend trying to purchase the older, used, Canadian copies which would rate the full five stars.

The Best way to brush up on your pharmacology!!!!!!

I love this book. It breaks down pharmacologic drugs by system (ie. drugs used on the GI system, abx, etc.) and explains them in very simple terms while still being entertaining. This book does not read like a text book. However, at the end of each chapter, there is a little 3-7 question quiz. The only down side about this book is that it does not give the common names of drugs (ie. Colace is referred to as ducosate sodium). This book has really helped me in clinical and my practice NCLEX scores have dramatically improved. This book is a must own for nursing students, new grad nurses, or anyone who needs brushing up on pharmacology.

Readible but wrong

We purchased this book thinking it might be useful for our medical students. It is not. This book has numerous basic errors of pharmacology principles. It is laid out well and communicates things clearly however it is misleading and wrong about important aspects of pharmacology. Believing some of what is written in this book could result in harm if it influenced prescribing decisions.

A book written in this style covering these areas could be very useful if it was correct.

Makes Pharmacology A Lot More Enjoyable.

I love this book. It breaks down pharmacologic drugs by system (ie. drugs used on the GI system, abx, etc.) and explains them in very simple terms while still being entertaining. This book is a must have for all nursing students. Sure does make pharmacology a lot easier to understand.

About the Author
Robin Waterfield is an internationally acclaimed scholar and author, whose publications range from abstruse academic articles to children's fiction. He has worked as a lecturer, editor and publisher before taking up writing full time. He has about forty books to his credit, with most of his later work cantering on academic works aimed at intelligent lay readers. His most recent books are Xenophon's Retreat: Greece, Persia and the End of the Golden Age (Faber; Harvard) and Why Socrates Died (Faber; Norton; McLeland & Stewart). Kathryn Waterfield (Dunathan) is a writer specializing in Greek history. Formerly with the University of South Florida and the Tampa Museum of Art, she now makes her home with husband, classicist Robin Waterfield, in the remote southern Peloponnese in Greece. Too many errors.

It was very informative but there were a lot of errors. I understand we are all human and we make mistakes but in Chapter three tha second paragraph is repeated in the third paragraph. It's a massive publishing error that should have been caught. Errors like that turn me off of books.
