About the Author
Guido F. Meert (physiotherapist and osteopath) is currently working in practice in Roding, Bavaria, Germany. Guido is also a lecturer and Director in charge of osteopathy at the Deutsche Fortbildungsinstitut f�r Osteopathie (DFO, training institute in osteopathy for practitioners in medicine, physiotherapy, massage and CAM manual therapies). Guido is the author of an osteopathy book published in German on the pelvis, ‘Das Becken aus osteopathischer Sicht’ (Elsevier, Urban & Fischer 2006) and on venolymphatic craniosacral osteopathy, 'Venolymphatische kraniosakrale Osteopathie' (Elsevier, Urban & Fischer 2012).

Fluid biomechanics

Guido Meert's comprehensive approach to the flow of fluids within our tissues is a must-have for any manual therapist. Though I work in the myofascial system and was initially put off by the title concerning lymphatic drainage, which is not my primary interest, I was blown away when I cracked the book and saw what a thoughtful, fulsome, and total-body approach Dr Meert has accomplished with this book. No matter what your modality, you will find many interesting 'aha's' in this book relating to organ work, craniosacral, neural freeing, as well as a very practical guide to useful techniques for keeping the fluids flowing. We are 2/3 water - and this book is a 360 degree guide to both our fluids and their flow. Get it.

Wish there were more books like this one

Studying and understanding bio fluid mechanics for a manual therapist is optional. But it shouldn't be. This book explains why it is important to consider fluids and how to affect their mechanics correctively.
I highly recommend this book for any therapist working with multi system body.
